On April 30, 2017 Germany set a new national record by powering 85% the country with renewable energy sources like solar, wind and hydroelectric power. The majority of the country’s coal-fired power stations were not even running that day. In fact, a representative of the Agora Energiewende Initiative expects these majority renewables days to become “completely normal” by 2030.
